In the beginning....
For my entire life, all 40 some odd years, I have poo-poo'ed coupons. I hated the notion of sitting there every sunday with a pair of scissors cutting up the newspaper into something that was not even going to be used for art. Fruitless. Waste of Time. Not doing it.
Well, as a course of recent events, not only have I become a coupon clipper in the last for weeks, I am now - da ta dah - SAVINGS GIRL. An advocate of thegrocerygame (If you sign up, please use my email address akrier@triad.rr.com as your referrel.)
I am so embarrassed by my coupon poo-pooing BUT I am also very happy to report that over the first four week trial, for which I paid $1.00, I saved our family $87 + $64 + $57 + $69 or exactly enough to offset the gasoline hikes for fueling up the Suburban, $ 277.00. (Solar power vehicles any one?)
Now, even more astounishing is that despite the fact that gas went up, we are now a single income family in a start-up business. There are four of us. Two of us could live on about $70.00 worth of groceries a week, but when you add the other two to the mix, and the 95 lb. golden retriever, - as my buddies in south Philly would say... Forgeet about it.
So each and every sunday, I will share my amazing "best" deal with you. Pop in to see what is happening.
